ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to examine the Influence of family life and sex education on sexual behavior of students in tertiary institution. Specifically, the study determine the influence of family life on the sexual behavior of the student. The study also ascertain the effect of sex education on the sexual behavior of the student. The study further ascertain the extent of influence of family life education on sexual behavior of students.  Lastly, the study ascertain whether influence of family life education on sexual behavior of students is dependent on location. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 133 responses were validated from the survey.  From the responses obtained and analyzed, the findings revealed that there is significant difference between the mean ratings of male and female students on the influence of family life education on sexual behavior of students based on location.  Also, Those parents provide family life education to the students at their various homes in Niger state. . The study hereby recommend that government should organize seminars and conferences on the need of family life education for parents. Research work on influence of family life education of sexual behavior of students should always be published.  Also, Government should extend the teaching of family life education to senior secondary schools and tertiary institutions. Both rural and urban school’s teachers must be made to know the role of location in student’s sexual behavior problem.
